Soul Train 02:39
A runaway locomotive came to rest in a field of rye; daddy prepared the motive, but he had no alibi. Some one should have warned daddy about the rats outside the door, but nobody moved a muscle; they did the Hustle on the dance floor! On the Soul Train coming into town; we like to watch them dance when Don Cornelius gets ‘em down. On the Soul Train on Saturday night, my babysitter naturally would never get uptight! A juiced up El Torino rolled like thunder down the street and no one dared to wonder if that thunder could be beat. Someone told the mayor about the people who loved to dance and Friday became Boogie Day to give everyone else a chance to boogie on Soul Train! Green tea and blueberry pie makes ya wanna try everything, but you don’t want to die. If you don’t think you’ve evolved, then you might find your problems don’t get solved. It may sound funny, but money makes the world spin around. Doesn’t it matter that most of it goes to the powerful few? If you don’t start asking why, then nothing’s gonna change and you might not be contemplating Green tea and blueberry pie makes ya wanna try everything, but you don’t want to die. If you don’t think you’ve evolved, then you might find your problems don’t get solved. Tell me you love me, and I’ll kiss you where the sun doesn’t shine. Doesn’t much matter if you kiss me back, baby that’s a fact. If you don’t start asking why, then nothing’s gonna change and you might not be contemplating Green tea and blueberry pie makes ya wanna try everything, but you don’t want to die. VERSE 1: Get in the red car, step on the gas; Mama don’t want to be sacred, mama don’t let it pass. Check out the white stripe, step on the clutch; Mama don’t want to be Starsky, Mama don’t want to be Hutch. CHORUS: She’s a huggy bear in a bucket seat, she’s got long black legs on sugarfeet. She’s like buttered toast with cherry jam; an ebony sister in a glittery glam machine. She’s a disco dancin’ rollerboogie queen! VERSE 2: Get in the Lincoln, lettin’ it ride; Mama don’t want to ride shotgun, mama don’t let it slide. Check out the white line, pop up the trunk; Mama come jack up the back end says she wants to boogie to a little funk. CHORUS: She’s a huggy bear in a bucket seat, she’s got long black legs on sugarfeet. She’s like buttered toast with cherry jam; an ebony sister in a glittery glam machine. She’s a disco dancin’ rollerboogie queen! BRIDGE: Shaking her hip, she was dancin’ side to side; moving so close, I had to use Vaseline for the miracle glide. She was shaking her chicken neck at the Studio 21 discotheque gettin’ down to the stereo sound on the scene just like a disco dancin’ rollerboogie queen! VERSE 3: Get in the red car, step on the gas; Mama don’t want to be sacred, mama don’t let it pass. Check out the white stripe, step on the clutch; Mama don’t want to be Starsky, Mama don’t want to be Hutch. CHORUS: She’s a huggy bear in a bucket seat, she’s got long black legs on sugarfeet. Doin' Donuts 02:46
CHORUS: Doin donuts in the parking lot- all night. You’re everybody that you think you’re not- it’s alright. You never listen when you talk to me~ I’m just a child of the century. I loved you better when you weren’t mine- in time, I found a tattoo of you on my mind. And then, I didn’t know where I should draw the line~ a friend became a lover overnight. We started slowly, then began to race, and I could see my future written in your face. Our hearts, french-kissing slowly in a hot embrace, and then you drove off in my car. CHORUS: Doin donuts in the parking lot- all night. You’re everybody that you think you’re not- it’s alright. You never listen when you talk to me~ I’m just a child of the century. In my Camaro, you look hot as hell- I fell in love that kept me like a prison cell. Until you spilled your secrets in a show & tell; you dropped the bomb & blew my mind. I didn’t trust you with my keys- you’re such a tease; you got me buzzin’ like a swarm of bees- oh, please! You melt my engine like an anti-freeze, and then you take off in my car. CHORUS: Doin donuts in the parking lot- all night. You’re everybody that you think you’re not- it’s alright. You never listen when you talk to me~ I’m just a child of the century. BRIDGE: Revving your motor when the light is red- tried gasoline, but I like blood instead. The light goes green and then you pull ahead~ the road is curvin’, the Chevy swervin’- I grab the wheel and then you’re gone! CHORUS: Doin donuts in the parking lot- all night. You’re everybody that you think you’re not- it’s alright. You never listen when you talk to me~ I’m just a child of the century. Robbie Gennet © Brown Earthling Music All Rights Reserved

Corduroy 02:50
VERSE 1: Bookmark girl takes a taste; she sticks her tongue into the paste. Pissing in the yellow bus will ruin it for all of us. Trademark apple, pocket comb; notebook stickers, going home. Bobby’s brilliant, Susie’s cool- see them kissing after school! CHORUS: “Come and feel my Corduroy”, he says to her. The shadow boy is watching you. Come and run on the field at three I’ll chase you down if you want me to catch you… and I’ll catch you if I can. VERSE 2: Crispy chicken afternoons, the special smell of diesel fumes vinyl seats in cars of brown will slowly wash the sunshine down. Meetcha at the pizza shop for sugarshakes and sodapop; the waitress looks like Marilyn Monroe, and she says they all think so. CHORUS: “Come and feel my Corduroy”, he says to her. The shadow boy is watching you. Come and run on the field at three I’ll chase you down if you want me to catch you… and I’ll catch you if I can. BRIDGE: On the playground, slides and swings are hip, and so’s that metal rocketship we play on. At recess on the monkeybars, pretending we are movie stars, we push & fall into the dirt ‘cause no one can get really hurt! VERSE 3: Bookmark girl, she takes a taste; she sticks her tongue into the paste. Pissing in the yellow bus will ruin it for all of us. Meetcha at the record shop for some groovyacidboogiepop; the waitress looks like Marilyn Monroe and she says they all think so. CHORUS: “Come and feel my Corduroy”, he says to her. The shadow boy is watching you. Come and run on the field at three I’ll chase you down if you want me to catch you… and I’ll catch you if I can. Shopping Bag 01:54
Swingin’ with the one brown shoe, don’t know what you’re gonna do in the bathroom swingin’ in the stall. I think I saw you down in the street walkin’ round, lookin’ sweet with your mama and a shopping bag full of love. I saw you ridin’ in a big canoe~ didn’t know what you were gonna do it’s crazy- crazy how I love you baby! I saw you drivin in a big sedan eatin’ lunch from a tuna fish can- you said it’s just a habit that you picked up from your grandma. Can’t you see you got a shopping bag of love in your hand? Can’t you see you got a shopping bag of love, baby? Saw you ridin’ on a horse at the farm; you had a tattoo on your arm of your lover- you keep it undercover when the lights go out. Got a pocketful of lemondrops and a traffic ticket from the cops~ it wasn’t my fault, I wasn’t to blame, I hope you don’t mind, but I gave them your name and then I gave them a shopping bag of love in their hand. Can’t you see I got a shopping bag of love, baby? Robbie Gennet © Brown Earthling Music All Rights Reserved

CHORUS: Olive the Dog, Olive the Dog, Olive the Dog She keeps lickin’ my face, lickin’ my face, lickin’ my face She jumps like a frog, sleeps like a log, Olive the Dog And she’s all in my space, all in my space, lickin’ my face. VERSE 1: Taking me back to when you were young and you didn’t have a care in the world. I didn’t know this song would be sung, But I knew that you were my girl, and you would always be PRE-CHORUS: You know that she’s only a little bit lonely but that’s just Olive the Dog! VERSE 2: Watching you roll around on the ground With the sweetest little belly to rub And when you play outside in the dirt, We always use the sink as a tub; oh how we scrub you clean! PRE-CHORUS: You know that she’s only a little bit lonely but that’s just Olive the Dog! Don't Cut 03:03
DON’T CUT Nobody wants to fight but they’ll do it if they have to survive. Maybe somebody got too tight. Oh, you’re never gonna see the light. It shines in the middle of the night. I’ll see you when you don’t know. Baby don’t cut, everything will be alright. Two times when you’re running from a red light. Tell the victim goodbye or be stuck inside a fragile mind. Maybe somebody got uptight. You’re never gonna see things right Hiding out in the middle of the night Pretending that you don’t know. Baby don’t cut, everything will be alright. If you never quite feel the hate that you’re fighting in your heart tonite, you could tell us all it’s much too late when it’s only just a matter of time and time again it seems. We try to live up to our dreams. Robbie Gennet © Brown Earthling Music All Rights Reserved

Goin' Back 02:44
VERSE 1: I see two more headlights down the road. Don’t panic now; I empty the barrel and reload. My ammunition guides me to victory and then I see the lights again. And I’m only trying to get myself back home. CHORUS: Got to be goin’ back to see my friends at home. If I can make it there I won’t ever be alone. VERSE 2: My tires spinning in the sand. Don’t panic now I got my pistol in my hand. The chamber clicks and all of my bullets fly away. And I hear someone say, “I’m only trying to get myself back home.” CHORUS: Got to be goin’ back to see my friends at home. If I can make it there I won’t ever be alone. BRIDGE: Every night under slivers of the moon, the stars align and spell my name. And if it’s right, then I’m on my way to see you and exclaim that nothing’s gonna change. VERSE 3: A gunshot echoes in the night. Don’t panic now! I hear someone coming and take flight. My heart is racing. I feel them gaining from behind- or is it just my mind? I’m only trying to get myself back home. CHORUS: Got to be goin’ back to see my friends at home. If I can make it there I won’t ever be alone. Stoney 02:44
CHORUS: When I’m feelin Stoney, I likes to eat baloney I ride upon my bike and pretend it’s a pony. I got lots of friends who don’t know what I go through; when I try to wave, they say I don’t even know you. VERSE 1: Can I try and mold something that is cold, or should I try and warm it up? Can I wait until you pass along something that is strong that I like? CHORUS: When I’m feelin Stoney, I likes to eat baloney I ride upon my bike and pretend it’s a pony. I got lots of friends who don’t know what I go through; when I try to wave, they say I don’t even know you. VERSE 2: Can you try and see the cross is just a T or do you like me hangin’ up? Can you stop and help me sing along? There’s something about this song that I like. BRIDGE: Is it the REAL THING that I want? Is it a sign of my undoing? Or is it a mask from Halloween that I’m really viewing? CHORUS: When I’m feelin Stoney, I likes to eat baloney I ride upon my bike and pretend it’s a pony. I got lots of friends who don’t know what I go through; when I try to wave, they say I don’t even know you. Robbie Gennet © Brown Earthling Music All Rights Reserved

Far Away 02:57
VERSE 1: Sometimes it rains all day and the clouds don’t let the sunshine shine. But I’m waiting for that rainbow and it’s coming; yea, I’m gonna make that rainbow mine. CHORUS: Give me a sign that you’re happy… Turn back the blue skies from grey… What do you want me to say? I’m not that far away. VERSE 2: When I am sad and blue I close my eyes and think of you. And I’m dreamin’ ‘bout the next time that I see you but until then, there ain’t nothin’ I can do. CHORUS: Give me a sign that you love me… Turn back my blue skies from grey… What do you want me to say? I’m not that far away. BRIDGE: Don’t you know I was shown why everything has changed and nothing is the same anymore. And I know why we’re meant to feel the pain but everything is better when you take away the blame. CHORUS: Give me a sign that you’re happy… Tell me you love me today (cause tomorrow’s never certain) What do you want me to say? I’m not that far away.
